Historically important WWII D-Day Flag flown on-board LCT 530 (Landing Craft Tank) as it took part in Utah Beach Operations during the invasion of Normandy on D-Day is offered by Centurion. This significant WWII D-Day Flag sold in the November 2017 Wartime Military Memorabilia Auction.

An extraordinary piece of WWII history, the WWII D-Day Invasion flag of LCT 530 complement any private or museum collection. Very few WWII D-Day flown flags are known to exist in the market. The flag being offered presents an exceedingly rare opportunity to own a special piece of history, from one of the most significant military events of the 20th century.

The Allied Invasion of Normandy on June 6th, 1944 (D-Day), involved nearly 160,000 Allied Troops (half of whom were American). The D-Day Invasion, and the sacrifice of those involved, signaled a turning point in the WWII European theater, and contributed largely to the defeat of Germany.

The 48 Star Flag of LCT 530 is part of an 800 Lot Military and Wartime Collectibles Auction. The auction is public and open to everyone and takes place at 11 a.m. Eastern on Nov. 30, 2017. Bidders are welcome to bid from the floor, telephone, absentee, or Internet.

Description of WWII D-Day Flag of LCT 530:
Historically important WWII D-Day Flown Flag of LCT 530 (Landing Craft Tank) - Utah Beach. This 48 Star Ensign was flown aboard LCT 530 on June 6th, 1944 as it took part in Utah Beach Operations during the invasion of Normandy (D-Day). It was recovered and kept by Gunner’s Mate Second Class Harry William Heckman, who served aboard LCT 530 on D-Day. Very few Flown D-Day Ships Flags are known to exist. Flag is framed.

Provenance of WWII D-Day Flag of LCT 530:
The Flag is consigned by the Family of Harry Heckman, the individual who recovered this D-Day Flag from LCT 530. It is accompanied by a complete file of provenance relating to Heckman and his service, to include documentation of his D-Day service aboard LCT 530. The Flag has been in the possession of the family since being brought back by Heckman. Also included is a Notarized Statement of Flag Authenticity, from Consignor Jason Hall (Grandson of Heckman, inherited Flag directly from Heckman).
